A Day-In-The-Life Photography
In photography, my childhood, life experiences, fears and hopes are all bound up in how I produce my images; it's an exploration of who I am and how I see the world. One which I can say is very positive, conveying my feelings artistically and creatively.
I've learnt over many years the skill and sometimes 'art' of being patient and also how to listen, these have become an important tool that I use every day in my photography. It's a skill that has proved vital when engaging and connecting with my subjects, anticipating certain behaviours, feelings as well as summing up the immediate atmosphere alongside any environmental considerations.
These all come into play when dealing with family groups or even couples I've worked with in the past, helping me produce ‘real-life’ images of families or events that provide truly wonderful memories.
I shoot this style of imagery with a documentary feel, either in black & white or if you prefer in colour, this is something we get to discuss during our pre shoot consultation. We also talk through the length of the session and anything you're looking for or hope to gain from our time together.
This style is something I recommend to families for children with special needs, such as autism or ADHD. Sometimes the pressure to perform in front of a camera can be stressful, this approach allows everyone involved to relax and just be themselves, making the images more authentic and ‘real’.
